How long will it take to walk around the US (not including Alaska and Hawaii) starting and ending in Vermont?

1.  Background Story:

     My question is how long will it take to walk from VT around the perimeter of the United States, back to VT. I know, this sounds like an easy question to find out but, you will have to take multiple steps. I'm also curious to find out how long it will take to compleat this travel going at a certain rate. I thought this would be a cool question because I didn't know any of the Information about like the perimeter of the US. And I thought it would be cool to find out the distance and an average walking time around it.

1. The total perimeter of the US without Hawaii and Alaska is approximately 54,059.0 miles and the is about 54,059 x 5,280 feet = 285,431,520 feet.

2. I will say he goes about 2 miles per hour. (walks from 6am to 6pm 12 hours a day)
3.I will say he goes about 2mph so he's going 12 hours per day so 12 x 2 = 24 miles per day.
b.
I'm estimating he goes about 8 miles an hour at 100 miles per day if he goes for 12 hours a day. The number of days will be estimated by this information, 285,431,520 divided by 24= 11892980 days it should take at 24 miles in 12 hours. So if he walked non stop 24 hours a day it would take around 5946490 days total.

4.  Construct a Formula:
12hrspd=2mph=~24mpd
If your going 12 hpd at 2 mph you should end up with around 24 mpd
General equation: hpd divided by mph will give you mpd.

My answer is that 285,431,520 feet going at 24 mpd should take about 5946490 days, to walk around the perimeter of the United States excluding Alaska and Hawaii. This would take about 16,291 years.
